NE TACOMA SCOUTS CHOOSE JULIA’S GULCH
FOR EAGLE SCOUT AND QUARTER MASTER PROJECTS
Last Fall Jonathan Dawes of NE Tacoma built a pathway to a viewpoint at the top of Julia's Gulch and installed a beautiful green ironwork bench for people to look down into the Gulch and at the same time view Mt. Rainier. He chose this as his Eagle Scout project - and thus received the highest honor in Scouting.
This summer his sister, Caitlin a Sea Scout with the Odyssey planned and designed a picnic site at Julia's Gulch along with a handicap access path to the site.
We applaud these two young people for their contribution to our community. The Friends of Julia's Gulch are thrilled that Jonathan and Caitlin chose to help with the restoration and enjoyment of Julia's Gulch . Many, many thanks!
